Quality Binge watching in Smart Homes

Uptake of smart TVs in the country is ever growing as Kenyans embrace the new era of binge watching. This has been heavily been influenced by the ever growing internet connectivity being reported by the Communications Authority to be at 89.4%.

Electronic companies are heavily investing in ensuring their consumers get the best streaming experience with their 4K and 8K innovations.

Streaming platforms such as Netflix and Amazon Video are leading by example by having their productions follow the trend of quality picture output to be at par with the TV production companies.

Within the first three years of shipments, 4K/UHD overshadowed HDTVs by four times with 16 million units shipped compared to 4.2 million units according to a research by Streaming Media.

LG leads in the production of quality sets with its OLED, NanoCell and Ultra HD TVs powered with Artificial Intelligence for picture, sound and user experience. They also come with webOS 3.0 to help users more intuitively navigate the TVs’ many features.

“Our latest TV lineup is powered by intelligent processors, giving viewers true-to-life picture quality as well as intelligent voice-activated control and connectivity based on LG’s deep learning technology.” says LG East Africa Assistant Manager Marketing & Corporate Communications Maureen Kemunto.

In addition the TV are embedded with an AI functionality that allows users to interact directly using the remote control (magic stick) with the help of advanced voice assistant technology. Powered with ThinQ function as smart home hub, homeowners are guaranteed access to other smart home products such as robotic vacuum cleaners, air conditioners, air purifiers, smart lights, smart speakers and many other devices that can connect to the TV via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
